Seattle Chapter

In 1995, Linda Dunn Gillis returned to Seattle after living in New York for twelve years. She shared her positive experience with an organization she belonged to called The Girl Friends and was inspired to start a Seattle chapter by her Albany, New York chapter.

In 1998, Linda gathered a group of twenty women to bond together through laughter and friendship. This eventually led to the formation of a remarkable women's group known as the 'Seattle Girls’.

With the assistance of her childhood friend Sheila Pitre Holmes, Linda shared that the Seattle Girls would serve as the bridge for becoming the Seattle Chapter of The Girl Friends®, Inc.

In 2006, The Albany Chapter of The Girl Friends®, Inc. sponsored the Seattle Chapter. The Seattle Chapter was then voted into the National organization in May 2006 and officially installed on October 21, 2006, as the 45th Chapter.
