Civic Activities
As part of our commitment to the community, our organization has supported a broad spectrum of causes from educational projects, the arts, health and wellness initiatives, and community assistance programs.
We partnered with The Southeast Seattle Senior Center to help seniors in Rainier Valley and nearby areas through various classes and activities that promote emotional, social, and physical well-being.
Recognizing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on seniors' forced isolation, the Seattle Chapter stepped up to provide holiday gifts and words of encouragement, which were distributed by the Center.
The Executive Director, GF Lynda Greene, played a key role in facilitating this project, and we had a great time shopping for the seniors and fully embracing the effort.
The Seattle Girl Friends played a significant role in providing financial support for the 2021 Seattle UNCF virtual gala, which turned out to be a thrilling and enjoyable event.
The Seattle Girl Friends and Boy Friends showed up in full force, and together, we donated an impressive sum of over $5,000.00 towards the fundraising event.
At Seattle Girl Friends, our belief is that "A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste," and contributing to this event was our way of supporting the development of future leaders, scientists, politicians, and educators. It was a party with a purpose, and we're proud to have been a part of it.
